CDC Rules
Microchip
Entry requirements can vary based on your pet’s vaccination history.
Customs Clearance
Microchip
If your dog is foreign-vaccinated (vaccinated outside of the USA) or has a lapsed US vaccination so was revaccinated outside of the USA, they will need the RNATT (Rabies Neutralising Antibody Titre Test) This test needs to be done between 31 days to 1 year after rabies vaccination was administered.
RNATT
Microchip
Your pet must be fully vaccinated with vaccines administrated AFTER the microchip was implanted. As per USA guidelines if your dog has a valid US-administered vaccination, your dog will not have to do the RNATT and will be able to enter the USA via airports outside of the 6 CDC facility airports.
Vaccination
Microchip
A 15-digit ISO-compliant microchip is required for entry.

We go the extra mile to ensure every pet travels safely, especially those with unique needs. Here’s how we handle special requirements:
Special Requirements for a Safe Journey
For Brachycephalic or Snub-Nosed Breeds (like Pugs, Bulldogs, or Persians)
- Extra Crate Space: These breeds require 10% more space for better airflow to keep them comfortable. - Temperature Control: We schedule flights to avoid extreme heat or cold, protecting their breathing. - Vet Check: We are the only IPATA Certified Veterinary Hospital in the region that can perform the BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) test - Airline Selection: We can help you to choose carriers that accommodate these breeds, ensuring a safe journey.

Crate requirements
IATA-Compliant Crates
- Size: Spacious enough for your pet to stand, turn, and lie down comfortably. - Material: Fiberglass, metal, rigid plastics, welded wire mesh, solid wood or plywood (meeting IPPC standards) (There may be special requirements for certain breeds) - Ventilation: Openings on all 4 sides to provide plenty of airflow. - Rigid plastic containers must be securely bolted together with metal nutes and bolts. - Spacer bars to prevent other freight from blocking ventilation.

Address common concerns to reduce hesitation and provide clarity.
Typically, the process can take up to 12 months, depending on your move and previous clinical preparation. The sooner you get in touch the better!
1. How long does the pet relocation process take?
If your pet is foreign-vaccinated they can only enter the USA via 6 Airports. These are: LAX, JFK, MIA, IAD, ATL and PHL.
2. What airports can my pet fly to if they were vaccinated in Vietnam?
If your pet is considered foreign-vaccinated then your pet will need to take the RNATT in order to gain entry into the USA.
3. Does my pet need the RNATT?
There is currently no laboratories in Vietnam that can do the RNATT. You can find the list of approved laboratories around the world here:https://www.cdc.gov/importation/dogs/approved-labs.html
4. Can the RNATT be done in a laboratory in Vietnam?
If your pet fails the RNATT they will need to be revaccinated with the rabies vaccine and then will need to wait an additional 31 days before retaking the RNATT
5. What happens if my pet fails the RNATT?
